Chart of the week – China beats India in 2024
In 2024, central banks cut rates, fiscal policy remained active, and growth stayed resilient. Many assets – especially stocks and precious metals – did very well. One notable market move was in Chinese stocks, which rallied strongly during the autumn on a new round of policy stimulus. It was enough to deliver a robust full-year market return that outpaced Asian neighbours, like India.
