Responsible investments for sustainable returns

Responsible investments for sustainable returns

Responsible investment seeks to generate sustainable economic value for the longer-term. It incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues that can be captured through a range of quantitative and qualitative measures.

As the global economy evolves to address sustainability issues, companies that most effectively manage the opportunities and risks it creates should be better positioned for long-term success. ESG factors will affect the value of all investments, and a careful consideration of ESG issues plays a key and integral part in how we unlock sustainable investment opportunities.

We have formally integrated ESG factors into our investment decisions since signing the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) at their launch in 2006. In Hong Kong, we are also a signatory to the Hong Kong Principles of Responsible Investment.
