    HSBC’s Sustainable Financing and Investing Survey explores the key trends shaping ESG and sustainable finance, revealing the latest thinking and insights on this topic.


    Climate change impact

    88% of investors saying it’s either “important” or “vitally important” for entities they invest in to be preparing for the effects of climate change.


    Integrating ESG considerations

    An increasing number of investors say there is now nothing holding them back from pursuing Enviromental, Social and Governance (ESG)-based investing – 64% compared to 54% in last year’s poll.


    Business model move

    94% % of companies expect to move away from environmentally- and socially- challenged business models in the next five years.


    The survey was executed by Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC. Respondents were split evenly 1,000 institutional investors, including asset allocators and asset owners and between 1,000 issuers, from across 19 industries. In total, respondents were based in 34 territories across the regions of Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Asean.
