Who will pay for energy sector decarbonisation? How will decarbonisation spread to the developing world? Why should we invest in low carbon firms anyway? In a a recent panel on Clean Energy, Michael Ridley, Director and Senior Responsible Investment Specialist at HSBC Global Asset Management spoke alongside Olivier Mussat the CIO from the International Finance Corporation, Sylvia van Waveren, Active Ownership Director from Robeco and Andrew Smith, Director of Greenbackers Investment Capital.

Michael discussed how the REGIO green bond fund is attracting finance to emerging market corporate green bonds and how the HSBC Global Asset Management joint venture with Pollination is looking to attract financing of smart agriculture and sustainable forestry. He also discussed how the sustainable infrastructure label developed by FAST-Infra aims to encourage host governments and project developers in the developing world to finance sustainable infrastructure.

Important information

The Funds may invest in financial derivative instruments for investment purpose which may lead to higher volatility to their net asset value.
